Germany - After five years at the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, event organizers Caba Kroll & Klaus Froehlich have decided to relocate its successful DJMeeting forum to a new venue in Duisberg for 2006. As a result, the 16-year-old event is set to take place on 16 May at the Delta Musikpark.

"Most DJ's, trade visitors and guests have been requesting a new location with a more personal atmosphere and a fresh vibe," admits Klaus Froelich. "The change of venue will make it possible to implement new ideas."

Among the exhibitors again will be Denon DJ, who line up alongside other equipment manufacturers, peripherals suppliers and record labels. In contrast to previous events, exhibitors will only present in two areas this year, allowing for a more even dispersion of visitors. There will also be a series of panels and seminars focused on current issues, and an evening entertainment programme.

Kroll & Froelich is determined to show that, far from being about to die, dance music is beckoning in a new dance label generation with tremendous potential. In fact the company plan to invite international record labels to the European fair from next year onwards.

Denon DJ's David Atkinson agrees, and gives the whole event a big thumbs-up. "The concept of the show makes perfect sense; it starts at 5pm so that visitors can come after work. As the manufacturers move off, the DJ's move in and start playing the many venues within Delta Park for a growing number of punters."

The main sponsor partner for the show is the brewery, Bitburger, while the event will enjoy media cooperation with Virtual Nights, Smag, Raveline, Piste and Sunshine Live.
