France - One of the highlights of the recent SIEL expo in Paris was the presence of dance station radio FG, where among the presenters making guest appearances in their makeshift studio was Paris-based producer and electro/house exponent, Patrice Strike.

With a string of production credits (and top club residencies) to his name the station's Saturday night presenter played an hour-long set to a packed house.

Patrice Strike now uses exclusively Denon DJ equipment as a result of a new sponsorship agreement set up this month with D&M Professional France.

When he returns to Ibiza this summer it will be with the new DN-S3500 CD/MP3 player and DN-X1500 mixer package - a combination which he says has revolutionised his art. For monitoring he is using Denon's HP1000 high performance headphones, which utilise a dynamic, closed back design for better isolation and large 53mm speaker drivers for extended audio response.

Commented Pascal Papin, who heads up D&M Professional France: "I have known Patrice for several years and it is great to have a DJ with his reputation endorsing the brand. It is already having a great effect on the profile."

The man who started DJing in his native Bordeaux ten years ago is rich in praise for Denon's forward-thinking policy, in producing features that DJ's want. "More and more people who see me use the S3500 are blown away, and want one," he says. "It is great to be able to show that the DJ does have a genuine choice now.

"I really like the design of the S3500 ... the technology is hot! It's so easy to use and really responsive - the fact that it supports different cueing methods is a real bonus and of course it reads MP3."

Since arriving in Paris in 1991 Patrice Strike has worked as frequently in Scandinavia (Sweden and Norway) as he has in North Africa (Morocco and Tunisia). He has also appeared at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, while In Paris he has residencies at the Mixer Bar and Vinyl Club.

It was producer, Parisian Patrick Levy of Sigle Productions, who invited him to Ibiza for the first time last summer. Once in the Balearics Patrice found himself playing the So Frenchy nights at Café Paradis, alongside Lith de Lanka, and also worked on Flaix FM, Ibiza's radio station. Now he can't wait to get back and spread the word about Denon to the island's dance faithful.
