France - Digigram, a leader in PC audio interfaces and innovative networked audio devices, is taking advantage of IBC 2006 to introduce Visiblu, a revolutionary audio processing and networking middleware developed specifically for building network-centric digital radio infrastructures.

Visiblu is a powerful standards-based software services framework that combines audio processing and networking technologies. It unifies Digigram's proven legacy sound cards and audio processing together with EtherSound protocol and professional audio IP streaming into an engine that runs under both Windows and Linux. Visiblu allows broadcast solution providers to easily and rapidly develop IT-based audio and data routing, transport, encoding, and processing systems across both local facilities and wide areas. Using a graph-style application programming interface (API), remote management of distributed audio processing resources and IP audio streams is possible for the first time. Visiblu's interoperability principles allow broadcasters to combine several vendor solutions into a coherent system, providing integrated control of the whole system from a single point.

According to Digigram CEO Philippe Delacroix: "Our broadcast partners have been looking for a way to exploit the ubiquity of wide area IP audio networking and system interoperability, while taking advantage of sound cards and EtherSound within the radio station. With Visiblu, we provide several classes of distributed audio networking combined with Digigram's legendary MPEG codecs, audio processing and network audio management tools. We are astonishing the market today with an unprecedented package of enabling technology, allowing the creation of infrastructure for future interactive digital radio."

Visiblu has already been adopted by several radio solution providers, including Jutel Oy, AEQ, Netia, AdeuxI, and Broadcast Bionics. The potential applications include low latency IP audio links for contribution and distribution, program insertion and remote system control. Digigram will present demonstrations of Visiblu during the IBC exhibit.
