The Aqua 30T from DNH.
UK - "The Aqua 30 is the best underwater speaker currently on the market in the UK," comments John Selley, the Amateur Swimming Association’s music controller, following trials at the National Championships in Wigan last year, and during the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Subsequently, the DNH underwater loudspeaker, the Aqua 30 (pictured) has been successfully used by many Amateur Swimming Association affiliated clubs.

DNH World-Wide Ltd, the UK subsidiary of the Norwegian industrial and commercial loudspeaker manufacturer DNH A/S, recently sponsored the medals for the ‘Four Cities Multi-National Synchronised Swimming Competition’ held over Easter at Farnborough. Two Aqua 30s were submerged to a depth of around 1.5m in the 25m pool and were powered by a 24VDC power amplifier, isolated from the main pool power supply. This arrangement gives exceptionally good coverage for the swimmers to hear music in all areas of the pool during their routines, say DNH. Selley commented: "The Aqua 30 loudspeaker gives improved audibility and clarity, and we even had requests from swimmers to decrease the speaker volume."

In a tight contest, the eventual overall winners of the two-day competition were Strasbourg from France. The Dutch from Zwolle were runners up, with Rushmoor (UK) third and Prague (Czech Republic) fourth. DNH World-Wide Ltd sales manager, Chris Evans, awarded the medals to the winning team.
