"The AV industry in the US seems to be on the right track again after the global economical tsunami," he stated. "While dnp denmark has weathered the global crisis well, the US market in particular has been badly affected - but now we are glad to see that things are changing."
dnp denmark themselves recorded a doubling of visitors attending their booth compared with the previous year. "As a result we can now look forward to the massive process of following up the many progressive discussions with our partners and customers," remarked Kræmmergaard.
The company specifically aimed products at the conference room, control room, digital signage and large venue installation sectors.
"These products were based upon the dnp Supernova materials of respectively the high- and low-gain type," he said. The new high gain Supernova material (23-23) had been particularly well received. "It was commented that 'no other 2.3 peak gain material can offer such wide horizontal viewing angles'. It shows that this new type of material will be ideal for many applications working in high ambient light conditions."
With 3D making increasingly penetrating different markets, dnp displayed 3D content (providing active stereo shutter glasses) onto a Supernova Infinity, equipped with a 0.8 low gain material to provide unique contrast and horizontal half gain viewing angles.
"This was also extremely well received - leading us to believe that 3D will be a definite winner for the film and gaming industries, as well as the simulation market," noted the dnp executive.
The Danish company also displayed the Supernova Panorama for digital signage and motorised Supernova Flex which was noted for its neat design and fantastic contrast and viewing angles, as the material is based upon the Supernova low gain material.
Outside the dnp booth, on the stand of Digital Projection the large Supernova Infinity Arc curved screen provided one of the show's visual highlights. Measuring a massive 40 ft x 7 ft, and using the Supernova 0.8 low gain material, DPI enhanced Supernova's reputation as being the only screen for ambient light conditions due to its fantastic ambient light absorptions. They remarked that this surface provided "the best curved screen we have seen on display ever in dark environment at the booth. DPI were so impressed that they will now present the same format at CEDIA in September - and expect that a number of their trading partners to show interest in this type of screen for large venue applications.
