Donavan Hepburn with JHS ASM Karl Bates and the Cymatic Audio LPL16 Live Player
UK - One of the UK's most sought after session musicians, musical directors, programmers and educators, Donavan Hepburn has worked with Take That as live drummer on every tour, and has also played with Jeff Lynne (ELO), Tom Jones, Adele, and Olly Murs.

For a long time Donavan had been looking for an alternative device that would reliably play back high quality audio to replace his old and bulky units.

"I was looking for a compact, reliable, high quality recorder/player, and above all it had to be rock solid," says Donavan. "I'd tried other devices but they didn't quite have what I needed, working with various artists who use some pre-recorded tracks laid down in the studio, and then using these track alongside live performances, meant that the unit would have to be solid."

He continues, "Then in the summer of 2014, Karl Bates of JHS introduced me to the Cymatic Audio LP16 and uTRACK24. The main things that stood out for me was the size, and the fact that correct balance between software and hardware had been achieved. The main purpose I use them for is playback, and both units do this with ease."

The Cymatic Audio Live Player LP-16 is an easy to use, direct from USB playback system, offering a 16-track audio player, standard MIDI File Player, Footswitch Start and Stop, Windows Play List Editor. The LP-16 works as a dedicated multi-track player for live performances, while sparing users the hassles of using a laptop and computer audio interface in a live environment. Meanwhile, its big brother, the uTRACK24 is a rack mountable playback and live recorder, providing 24 channels of balanced input/output through 25-pin D-Sub connectors, which also works as a powerful 24x24 computer audio interface.

JHS Pro-Audio area sales manager Karl Bates adds, "Donavan purchased two Cymatic LPL16 16 track players, and two uTrack24 24 track recorder/players. What also was very important for Donavan was being able to work closely with Cymatic in putting forward suggestions and implementing upgrades."
