Eurohire has been involved with the Dynacord Cobra system since it was launched onto the market. Owner Mervin George is delighted with its performance and versatility, pointing to six weeks on the road with the Stylistics, a full quota of fireworks displays and concerts in November, several dates in the theatre with the Black Heroes musical production, and a variety of corporate and charity events all over the south-east.
"If it fits the job, it does the job," says George. "The quality of the Cobra system is excellent, it has been really well thought out. It has good anti-feedback characteristics and is so lightweight that two guys can handle enough PA to fill 2,000-capacity venues. Nor does it take up loads of space in the warehouse. Cobra matches our needs, and fills a niche in small but high-quality systems; Dynacord has also made sure that the ergonomics look good for corporate work."
Shuttlesound's Paul Barretta describes the new Dynacord Cobra-PWH as "a horn-loaded enclosure that generates higher sound pressure levels than the standard Cobra Sub bass enclosure. Its official designation is that of Planar Waveguide Bass-horn, and it is equipped with the high-power Electro-Voice EVX 180B 18" transducer. It can be used either with the Cobra compact line array system or with the new Cobra-4 cabinets."
