"Mega Audio gives EAW a strong partner in the highly-demanding German market," Rocha said. "Our product line can compete with anybody's, and Germans, known both for a love of music and for an appreciation of advanced technology, deserve to hear it for themselves. Mega gives us the strength to be certain we are heard."
Mega Audio GmbH, a leading professional audio equipment distributor, was founded in the year 1989 in Bingen, Germany, and originally focused on high end recording studio equipment. Over time, the company expanded into other aspects of pro audio, including broadcast, cinema, installation and integration, concert touring and "musical instrument" retail. Mega Audio's now adds EAW to a portfolio that includes top-tier brands like Midas, Klark Teknik, DPA Microphones, sE Electronics, Bricasti, Dan Dougan, Fostex, Gem Audio Labs, JamHub, JoeCo, Millennia, Phonak, Rupert Neve Designs, and TTA.
"We are thrilled to welcome EAW into our family," Mega Audio managing director Burkhard Elsner said. "EAW has made history many times in the past. With the new products EAW is developing, we think the German market is going to fall in love with this brand all over again."
"For me, the timing is perfect," added Harald von Falkenstein, Mega Audio sales director. "To start a relationship with so iconic a brand and just as they are completing a next-generation product is basically an ideal situation. By the time this reaches print, the industry will know that EAW is a force to be reckoned with."
The appointment is part of an overall agreement between Mega Audio and EAW parent company Loud Technologies, Rocha explained, giving EAW additional sales support resources on which to draw. "The German market is too big and too important to leave poorly-supported." Rocha said. "Between Mega, EAW support resources and our colleagues across the Loud family, we anticipate a deep and ongoing engagement with some of the most discerning audiophiles on earth."
