The Element Series is designed to high audio performance with the most robust environmental protection, to IEC 60529 and MilSpec 810 ratings. A key factor, according to EAW, is a new acoustically inert yet waterproof enclosure material: high-impact polypropylene with 40-percent calcium carbonate. Shaped into enclosures with few or no parallel surfaces, this new material is designed to make the Element Series sonically indistinguishable from EAW's world-famous laminated Baltic birch enclosures. The LM60 includes a soft-dome tweeter on a Waveguide Plate(tm) and a 6.5-inch woofer, while the LM80 pairs a Waveguide Plate-loaded compression driver with dual 6.5-inch woofers. A perforated steel grill backed with open cell 60ppi foam protects the drivers. An optional 10,000 pores to the inch stainless steel water barrier is also available.
Also show are the newest members of EAW's JFX Series, the new JFXi Series, which includes six new models: JFX100i, JFX200i, JFX260i, JFX290i, JFX560i and JFX590i. All six models incorporate new woofers that benefit from an advanced magnet structure geometry-the Orbital Magnet Array(tm). Instead of a solid disc, EAW's new Orbital Magnet Array distributes small magnets around the voice coil and pole, whose benefits are cited as increased thermal capacity and reduced power compression.
The 10-inch and 15-inch JFXi woofer cones are filled with fibreglass to enhance their rigidity and are coated to protect them against water and humidity. The 15-inch woofer has a 4-inch copper clad aluminium (CCA) coil with full-length, inside/outside winding increases power handling and maximizes linear travel for extended LF output. The 10-inch woofer uses a low-inductance 3-inch copper voice coil.
