Czech Republic - The magnificent baroque complex of Castle Jaromerice nad Rokytnou and gardens in the southern Czech Republic town of Jaromerice recently played host to the Peter Dvorský International Music Festival for the 12th consecutive year. Star billing was reserved for the Spanish operatic diva Monserrat Caballé, one of the greatest soprano voices of our time. One of the many highlights of a long and glittering career was her duet, Barcelona with Freddie Mercury in 1988 which went on to become the anthem for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Tickets to the festival sold out rapidly as fans and aficionados flocked to the event; a unique occasion for most to see and hear Monserrat Caballé in an exclusive performance, accompanied by the Moravian Philharmonic orchestra of Olomouc under the baton of renowned conductor, José Callado.

Specialist AV rental company, Rental Pro, who have offices in the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia, were responsible for providing the PA system for the festival. They provided an Eclipse digital mixing console from Innovason at FoH.

Sound engineer, Lukas Hvezda, who is extremely experienced in classical music and philharmonic orchestras, and who has been engineering this festival for several years, was at the controls. "I'm familiar with the Innovason concept as I've used an Sy48 for years, and have always appreciated the flexibility of the console as well as the great sound," he remarked. "This year was my first opportunity to try out an Eclipse, and I have to say it was a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed myself - Eclipse was just so easy and intuitive to use, and of course the sound was every bit as good as we've come to expect from Innovason."

Hvezda also appreciated the fact that he was able to control the Nexo NX242 loudspeaker processors directly from FoH via the NXtension ES4 expander board which enables remote control via EtherSound.

Over 4000 people attended the festival which offered six different shows over a leisurely two-week period, ranging from jazz to baroque music. The event culminated in an evening of Rossini accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display set against the dramatic backdrop of the castle.
