Park Resorts operate 35 holiday parks at popular tourist destinations throughout the UK and has already spent more than £4M expanding and upgrading its facilities during 2006.
Park Resorts chose preferred-supplier TED AV for the refit at Cayton Bay. TED AV is the sound, lighting and stage equipment design, supply and installation division of TED UK (The Entertainment Department UK Ltd), the largest independent provider of live holiday entertainment in Europe, says the company.
For the 1500-capacity ballroom at Cayton Bay, TED AV's technical production manager, Mark Morley, designed the sound system based on Community loudspeakers and Kind amplifiers. 2-way full-range CPL42's cover the main dance floor immediately in front of the stage and iBOX iHP1294's are used for longer throw for the seating areas. The stage system is complemented by iBOX i215LVS high power subwoofers and Community's compact I/O8 systems provide infill, delayed to accommodate the room's substantial size.
Controlled by Community's DXP4800 digital matrix processor the system is powered by Kind XT4000, KDL3000 and KDL1200 amplifiers. In addition to the FOH system, Community MVP12M monitors and KIND KDL1200 amplifiers provide foldback.
Morley says: "As people's experience and expectation of audio quality at events rises, it's important that we continue to exceed their expectations. For a very realistic budget the Community and Kind products have given this venue great audio quality, excellent coverage and impressive sound levels. Reliability is also an important factor for us and you can see the way that's designed in to the Community product. Finally, customer service is key to the way TED AV works with clients and it's good to receive that same level of service from our supplier - Community UK."
