X-Line E, the ultra-compact version of EV's line array range, contains a single 8" and 1" as used in the X-Line D, and has its own dedicated 2 x 12" sub. The sub is designed to be flown behind the mid/high line array from its own hanging frame; the two elements then connect to a master beam above which allows correct angling of the more critical mid/high line.
Also on show the new TG-7 range of remote control, network compatible, high-power switch mode amps just 2U high; And NetMax N8000, a 32-channel DSP in blocks of 8 in/8 out, CobraNet and IrisNet enabled, and compliant to EN60849.
Across the gangway, making its first appearance at PLASA, was the long-awaited Midas XL8 desk, with world-famous sound engineer 'Big' Mick Hughes inviting many a happy attendee to sample the digital delights. This desk has already been well reviewed since its launch in February of this year. Perhaps of more immediate relevance was the Square One line from Klark Teknik; the Graphic, a 30-band stereo unit comes with long-travel faders (45mm), while the Dynamics can provide either eight channels of gating or compression, each fully featured, in a high quality, median cost package. Also attracting much attention KT's Show Command, an integrated hardware software system for full speaker system management, EQ and routing. A fab wireless and tablet interface called Helix EQ, and an equally fab flying fader remote graphic called Rapide, were also on show. www.electrovoice.com
