Although the main club system comprises Funktion One's Dance Stacks and Resolution systems, Kelco owner David Kelland saw EM Acoustics products as the ideal solution for DJ monitoring and infills at the venue. Consequently, each DJ area contains a pair of EMS-121 (12" x 1") full-range enclosures, innovatively mounted on poles built into the DJ console and wired through the pole-mount for security. The club's stylish VIP area contains four EMS-81 (8" x 1") full-range enclosures, discreetly mounted around the neon-lit two-level ceiling, using the enclosure's own internal M10 rigging points.
Of the products, Kelland says: "These enclosures are absolutely awesome. The response out of both is extremely smooth and linear, and although having plenty of power behind them, remain extremely pleasant to listen to at all power levels. The understated appearance of these products makes them ideal for discreet installations. So far, everyone who has heard them in Stealth has appreciated them - including opening-night DJ Matt Tolfrey."
MC2 T2000 amplifiers power the EMS-121 enclosures in both booths, while the smaller EMS-81 enclosures have an MC2 T1000 providing the power. System routing and limiting is provided by Biamp Audia Solo and Flex units.
EM Acoustics' Mike Wheeler adds: "This is an important step forward for us - to have a well-known installation company like Kelco backing us. Responses to demonstrations carried out by us with Kelco have been extremely promising so far, and we hope this relationship will continue for a very long time."
