White Light has a long history of working at the Royal Courts of Justice. In 2007, Seasoned Events was awarded the events management and catering contract at the venue and, following this appointment, developed a close working relationship with White Light; regularly using the complete production solution specialist for a series of events. White Light's project manager Phil Gladman, who also led this final event, states, "Over the years, the Royal Courts of Justice has provided the setting for many unique events for White Light. This has included Asian weddings, fashion shows and even a Fabergé dinner. We were also lucky enough to support their Christmas season so the various demands of their different requirements have really allowed us to push ourselves and grow as a result."
The historic location has also seen White Light provide their services on private drama events, aerial performances and masked balls. Colin Sayers, managing director at Seasoned Events, states, "We have a great relationship with White Light and have called upon their services for many years. They were aware of the layout and rules and regulations we had to follow at the Courts so any dealings with them were efficient and stress-free."
The final event held in the space was a corporate dinner arranged by the TFI Group. Rob Eveleigh, projects manager for the TFI Group, states, "The event was an end of congress dinner and we were relying on White Light to provide both the lighting and sound equipment. Considering the fact that there was a band playing, speeches were being made along with the overall significance of the event, it was important for us that the set-up provided an unforgettable atmosphere - which it did."
PAR64 was used for the uplighting in the hall, Pinspots were used for the tables and CORE ColourPoint Uplights were used to light both the corridors and costume gallery. In terms of providing audio equipment, a d&b PA system, digital mixing systems and microphones were used for the band. "As this event had several technical requirements, it really allowed us to showcase everything that White Light has to offer," comments Phil.
The event was a great success and a fitting one to conclude what was both a popular and successful arrangement at the Royal Courts of Justice. Colin states, "We really enjoyed working with White Light during our time at the Courts. They always helped us make every event the best it could possibly be and always found time to help". Rob comments: "With the closure of the Royal Courts of Justice as an event space, this unfortunately reduces the availability of unique venues for large numbers in Central London. That said, we are proud with the success of this final event and how satisfied the client was; something which would not have been possible without the help of White Light."
