The winning ticket for the Second Prize of a $1,500 Amazon Gift Card was drawn by last year's Grand Prize winner, Ken Vannice. David Milly, the owner of Theatrical Lighting Systems in Huntsville, Alabama, was the lucky winner.
John Gebbie of Barbizon Electric was the winner of the Third Prize, a $1,000 Amazon Gift Card which was drawn by Matthew Griffiths, the Managing Director of PLASA. At the 2009 PLASA show, Matthew presented Behind the Scenes with a check for £5,000 which represented funds raised from entry fees for PLASA's annual Innovation Awards.
Behind the Scenes provides financial assistance to entertainment technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured. Funds may be used for medical expenses or basic living expenses such as mortgage, rent, utilities, food, transportation, and childcare. Funds are available to anyone who has worked at least five years full time in the entertainment technology industry-whether they're on the road or in a rental shop; they're a TD or the head of R&D; they work in a theatre or on a cruise ship.
