This year the IRGAwards focused on technology and artificial intelligence

Portugal - Europalco leveraged the power of Kuka robot to create a memorable experience at the 36th Deloitte IRGAwards 2024. Held at the Carlos Lopes Pavilion in Lisbon, the event, organised by Desafio Global, welcomed 270 guests.

This year, the IRGAwards focused on technology and artificial intelligence, creating an atmosphere that showcased the harmony between humans and machines. Europalco’s Kuka robot played a prominent role in this narrative. The evening began with a performance where a Kuka robot played the piano alongside a pianist. A highlight of the event was the captivating dance performed by a Kuka robot and a professional dancer. These demonstrations showcased the impressive capabilities of modern robotics.

The IRGAwards 2024 stood out for its innovative use of visual and scenic elements. Of particular note was the 360-degree immersive environment that combines round screens and immersive audio. This arrangement engaged the audience and elevated the experience, making the event memorable for all attendees.

Europalco provided a full range of services for the IRGAwards, ensuring flawless execution from start to finish. Services included sound, lighting, video, cameras, stage, sets, screens, Kuka robotics, rigging/structures and furniture. For Europalco, handling all aspects of an event like this simplifies the process for everyone involved. Clients benefit from a single point of contact, eliminating the need to manage multiple suppliers. Europalco, in turn, leverages its well-coordinated teams who are highly experienced in handling complex, single-source events.

Eleven round screens, seven with an 8m diameter and four with a 6m diameter, created an immersive 360-degree environment.

Diogo Fernandes, Europalco project manager, stated, “Our team prepared for this gala well in advance. We invested in training our staff and conducted rehearsals in our internal studios with the ballerina and the pianist. The truth is that more and more clients feel confident in using the Kuka robots in their events, as they see that our team is well-prepared for the challenges. In essence, all Europalco’s investments are designed to provide customers with increasingly innovative content for their events.”

The IRGAwards are an initiative that Deloitte has been promoting for over 30 years in Portugal, with the aim of rewarding people and organisations that have contributed most and best to making the capital market more efficient, transparent, socially responsible and useful to the Portuguese economy and society.
