Italy - Proel has introduced its new SMARTPlus range, which follows in the footsteps of the original Proel Smart speakers. The SMARTPlus models offer value for money for both touring artists and installers, say Proel - featuring high quality componentry and build, including genuine compression drivers instead of the Piezo tweeters commonly used in this price level.

Featuring trapezoidal designs for easy grouping, the SMARTPlus range also benefits from heavy-duty carpet covering, comes with kick-proof steel grilles, a built-in crossover at 12 dB/octave, a brand new 900 H x 600 V constant coverage elliptical horn, newly designed woofers, PTC electronic protection of HF components and plenty more features usually associated with more expensive products.

Available in passive configurations, most of which have MOSFET-powered alternative versions, the new SMARTPlus range offers users a comprehensive range from the SMT10P (passive, 135W AES, 120dB SPL, 10" woofer, 1" driver) up to the SMT18SP8/4 models which feature single 18" woofers, will handle 400W AES, deliver 40Hz-160kHz response and offers a maximum SPL of 127dB. Included in the range is the quasi three-way SMTP215, which offers twin 15" woofers plus a 1.7" compression driver for HF, will handle 500W AES and has a rated SPL of 128dB. There are also SMARTPlus 12" and 15" wedge monitors, and three different sub-woofer alternatives, all of which include stereo crossover with high-pass filters.
