UK - HD Pro Audio is holding a technology showcase in November featuring DiGiCo’s SD12 digital mixing console and the latest developments from KLANG:technologies’ 3D binaural IEM mixing system.
The event, which takes place on Monday 20 November from 12:00PM to 5PM at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden, will offer an overview of the SD12 console and an in-depth session on KLANG:technologies’ latest KOS 3.0 software.

UK - Cardiff based events specialist 11th Hour is beginning preparations for the opening of the flagship ice rink in the city centre on 9 November.
The rink is part of Winter Wonderland presented by Sayers Amusements, which is running for nine weeks and boasting a fairground with big wheel, rides, stalls and an authentic alpine village, complete with Bier Keller. Last year, 60,000 visitors attended the rink, so this year's rink will be larger to accommodate up to 290 skaters at a time.

Airstar’s lighting solutions were once again installed at the heart of the historic classic yachting event - the 160th edition of which took place between 23 and 30 September.

Czech Republic - Colours of Ostrava is the biggest international music festival in Czech Republic and one of the largest in Central Europe. With its unique location at the Dolní oblast Vítkovice, an old Czechoslovak mine with UNESCO World Heritage status, the festival draws some of the biggest musical acts from around the globe. Austria - AV technology manufacturer AV Stumpfl will present a projection screen accessory prototype, a line-up of projection screens and media server products at this year’s LDI exhibition in Las Vegas.
The T-32 Shift projection screen leg allows an easy adjustment of the height of a a mobile projection screen without the need of disassembly. UK - Delegates who attended the 2017 PLASA Rigging Conference at London Olympia last month have hailed the new format a success, according to the event's Platinum sponsor Unusual Rigging.
The 8th annual conference commenced with the traditional opening address – this year from industry legend Morris Lyda who talked about working with the likes of Phil Collins and Genesis while addressing the key entertainment basics, their shortcomings, values, obscurities and a contemplation of its uncertainties.

The Netherlands - Integrated Systems Europe has announced that Carlo Ratti, the leading architect, engineer, inventor, and professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will present the ISE opening address on 5 February 2018.

UK - Wayne Howell, founder of Artistic Licence and the inventor of the Art-Net ethernet lighting protocol, has been honoured with the 2017 Gottelier award at the PLASA London show.
Named in memory of Tony Gottelier, the renowned industry innovator and commentator, this annual award recognises product developers who have made significant long-term contributions to the advancement of entertainment, presentation or installation technology.
Wayne Howell founded Artistic Licence in 1988. He was a major contributor to the development of DMX512-A in the 1990s, and released his free, public domain Art-Net protocol a few years later. Art-Net is now in its fourth version and has been adopted by hundreds of manufacturers worldwide.

“The PAL Label Challenge is so much fun. It gets really competitive between friends and colleagues but so far, no one has made it budge.” Said Le Mark’s marketing & strategy manager, Mark Gibbons.
What’s the PAL Label Challenge? Le Mark wanted an entertaining way to demonstrate the raw strength of the adhesive they use in selected PAL Road Case Labels. With the help of with 5 Star Cases, they designed a set of flight case plates, fitted with heavy duty handles and stuck them together using the very same super-strength foam adhesive used in their foam-backed PAL Labels.
