Germany - Robert Juliat was present in classic style in the Lightpower Village at Prolight+Sound 2017 as it presented a line-up of its tungsten and discharge followspots - Lancelot, Merlin, Cyrano, Victor and Roxie - which formed a beautiful backdrop to herald the arrival of Robert Juliat’s two new LED followspots, the powerful 600W Oz and Alice.
Long- and short-throw models respectively, Oz and Alice feature an exclusive 600W cool white LED source and are the first professional LED followspots able to deliver a high output comparable with that of 1200W discharge followspots.
The dynamic pair share the same high-quality functions and characteristics offered by the Robert Juliat classic Compact range. Their compact dimensions and silent operation are coupled with the benefits of no heat, smooth electronic dimming - locally or remotely via DMX – and no lamp-change fo

UK - VDC Trading will be showcasing a selection of the latest products from Van Damme Cable, including the Black Series reduced OD speaker cable and the Digi-Tour AES/DMX multicore, at PLASA Focus Leeds, held at The Royal Armouries from 9-10 May.
The Van Damme Black Series reduced OD 2- and 4-core 4mm cables are engineered to have the lowest possible overall diameter. They are commonly used with speaker multipins for amplifier break ins or speaker breakouts and help to keep truck weight down. The cables are double extruded; the first extrusion encloses the inner conductors and the second extrusion gives a smooth and round outer jacket.
Van Damme Digi-Tour multicores are mechanically and electrically based on the Van Damme Green Series range, but they feature a matt black outer jacket for on-stage use and discrete rigging. 1

UK - With 10 new products, including line arrays, stage monitors and amplifiers, being showcased at Frankfurt Prolight+Sound for the first time, Martin Audio’s optimism was fully understandable.
But even they could not have anticipated the overwhelming market response to the new product suite, in particular the Wavefront Precision, a new generation of multipurpose line arrays. Designed as complete systems, with the new external iKON multi-channel amplifiers, the sound is optimised using Martin Audio’s automated DISPLAY software.
Said director of marketing, James King, “Despite the lower turn-out at the show overall, traffic was constantly being driven to our booth and the footfall was one of the highest we have ever experienced at a trade show. This coincided with record levels of online PR coverage, social engagement and website traffic.”

Germany - PR Lighting enjoyed high visibility at this year’s Frankfurt Prolight+Sound Show - largely due to an inspired product showcase centred around their new Aqua waterproof moving heads. This was promoted heavily at the show via banners and large posters in heavily populated areas of the concourses and walkways.
The Aqua 440 Beam, the waterproof version of the XR440 Beam, takes advantage of the popular new high output Osram 440W discharge lamp to deliver a punchy and parallel 3.1° beam. Lining up alongside was the AQUA LED 600 Spot, which in addition to offering protection against rain and humidity, maintains “a perfect working temperature even in hot or cold conditions”.
The ability of PR Lighting’s new IP44-rated enclosures to protect against splash water was demonstrated at their Frankfurt booth, where they continued to function in the midst of a fount

India - Allen & Heath’s dLive S Class digital mixing system was employed at the annual national town hall meeting for Deutsche Bank, held in Mumbai.
Attended by employees from the Bank’s offices across India, dLive managed the live sound reinforcement and two-way live video conferencing with the organisation’s London, Hong Kong and Singapore offices.
Comprising an S7000 Surface and DM64 MixRack, the dLive system was supplied and managed by Mumbai-based PA company, Audiocore.
“dLive was the only option for this event as the S7000 surface enabled me to have 128 inputs at my fingertips. dLive’s powerful processing rate also means it is lightning fast, and combined with excellent audio intelligibility and with minimum set up time, it’s a no brainer for a live conference situation,” says FOH engineer, Bijon Bhadra.

Europe - The Claypaky Scenius Spot is being championed for its output, colour and optical quality by lighting designer Dan Williams who is using the fixture as the main lighting workhorse on British rockers Skunk Anansie's current European tour, Anarchytecture.
Lighting supplier for the tour, Buckinghamshire- based lighting design and rental outfit Siyan, recommended Dan the spot fixtures to work alongside the production's dominant LED video package, that includes both floor and flown LED screens.
"The main issue with working with such a strong video element is getting a fixture that is bright enough to stand out against the LED screens," says Dan. "The Scenius Spot has absolutely no problem with this."
To create the show's saturated colour pallets and punchy back and beam light Dan is utilising the fixtures advanced CMY and linear CTO colour systems.

Echo’s End marks Howard’s fifth production at the Salisbury Playhouse. He comments, “Salisbury is a great venue and this is a brilliant new play that tells a story about that part of the world.
