Launched at PLASA 2005, the multi-model TCS Compact series is designed specifically for use by installation contractors, by offering the widest flexibility in mounting and rigging facilities, in the choice of colour finishes, and in the range of audio options available. At Reflex in the City of London, an 80s revival club-bar with a chrome and neon interior, Marquee's system is designed to be capable of generating a full-on party atmosphere. A city bar in the early evenings, the venue transforms into a lively club later at night, and can accommodate around 400 people. The main dance floor system is configured around four TCS-121C Compact loudspeakers, which are mounted in a one-in-each-corner pattern, and are supported in the lower frequencies by a pair of Turbosound TXD-115 sub-bass units. Marquee's other TCS Compact installation is in Peterborough at Flares, which has a 70s theme, and has been installed with six TCS-121C loudspeakers, complemented by two TXD-215 double-15" bass systems.
Mark Brown, managing director of Marquee Installations, commented: "We have been doing business with Turbosound for some years, and have successfully used the company's QLight and TXD loudspeakers in a number of installations. For us, the new TCS Compacts offer a similarly attractive price-performance proposition, with more versatile rigging and mounting arrangements, and improved aesthetics. This is particularly important in our market, as it's heavily driven by architects and interior designers, and so it was a natural progression for us to use the TCS Compacts for these new installations. With the same form factor and performance as the proven TXD products, and more designer-friendly aesthetics and rigging flexibility, the decision was a no-brainer. We look forward to specifying TCS Compacts in a number of upcoming projects and, among the wide range of products, the TCS-101C, with its 10" driver and rotatable horn flare, looks an interesting offering. It should prove ideal for our market place, where customers continually demand discrete visual profiles, combined with high audio performance."
Introduced from the outset as a multi-model range, Turbosound's TCS Compact series offers contractor-specific features, encompassing installation, audio performance and aesthetics. The loudspeakers are designed to offer contractors a range of installation alternatives, and can be supplied as standard in black-painted cabinets or with an all-over-white finish. Available as weather-resistant variants to IP54, they can also be ordered in custom colours to suit specific interior design and architectural requirements.
