UK - Attendees at this year’s ABTT Theatre Show were eager to experience the d&b Soundscape sessions as visitors packed into the Londesborough Room at Alexandra Palace, London on 6 and 7 June.
Powered by the d&b DS100 Signal engine, an audio system processor based on a powerful Dante enabled signal matrix, the d&b Soundscape “enables unparalleled creativity through its two software modules En-Scene and En-Space”.
The Soundscape sessions proved to be extremely popular, with the d&b GB team demonstrating the new creative tool by deconstructing audio content from a number of typical live event scenarios. Using sound objects, the team recreated a range of scenarios in d&b Soundscape: a traditional theatre, a small gig and Verdi’s AIDA from the Sydney Opera House. d&b also showed how an experimental sound artist was able to manipulate spatial audio in a live environment using the artist’s own unique performance technology.
Stephen Hogg, managing director d&b GB comments, “ABTT 2018 was d&b Soundscape’s UK show debut, and it’s been a big success. Theatre sound technicians have long embraced sound localization and Soundscape enables this within the established d&b Workflow. ABTT is always a great show for d&b GB; reaching this key audience in such numbers presents a great opportunity for us to talk through our hardware, enabling technologies and value-added services with users and customers.”
