UK - British public company, Fundamental-e Investments plc (FEI), has acquired Symphonix Limited, manufacturer and distributor of Mission Loudspeakers as part of its strategy to become a leader in the field of audio and visual technologies. FEI already has interests in computer hardware, telecoms, internet, games and flat screen technology. Both companies are excited at the prospect of further growing Mission internationally with strong support from FEI, directed towards the rapid convergence now taking place in entertainment and communications technology.

FEI was attracted by the Mission name and technology and are already putting into place new strategies and organization in order to focus on the values that were the cornerstone of Mission's early success: innovation, quality and market leading technology. Jean-Marc Galiana has been appointed as CEO of Symphonix and is already working with the current Mission management team as well as integrating the company into the Fundamental-e group. His senior background in industry and finance will be of great benefit to the company. DC Barkataki has been appointed as the chairman of Symphonix and will be working closely with the Fundamental-e group.

FEI chief executive, Jonathan Nelson commented: "Acquiring Mission, with its expertise in audio is a significant step in our strategy of being a specialist supplier of audio video solutions. It further gives us a manufacturing base and the perfect opportunity to marry our group products and databases together. The purchase of Symphonix and the Mission brand gives us the brand name with which to launch our new range of products onto both the home and world markets."
