Almost 13,000 visitors, including a record 25% from overseas, attended the PLASA Show last year. Specifiers, consultants, attraction managers, recording technicians, disc and light jockeys, corporate presentation planners, technicians, architects, installers and other professionals from the world of entertainment technology traveled from all corners of the globe to see the very latest products, innovations and designs showcased.
The PLASA Show 2001 will feature many of the attractions that contributed to last year’s success including the PLASA Technology Gallery, a display of the product developments entered in the PLASA Awards for Product Excellence. An expanded Architectural Lighting Feature will showcase interior and exterior architectural lighting products, to demonstrate how effective lighting can enhance a building or venue. Once again, the DJ Competition, sponsored by DJ magazine and Gemini Sound Products, will search for the newest and hottest DJ talent on Sunday 9 September. A new educational programme will also form part of the day offering expert tips and advice on how to make it as a DJ. An enhanced Masterclass Programme is also planned for PLASA this year - more details to be announced soon.
Matthew Griffiths, managing director of PLASA, says: "12,801 (ABC audited) visitors passed through our doors last year, despite the impact of the fuel crisis. This year, we want to continue to develop the Show’s strength in its core markets. In addition, we aim to expand further into the new markets that we have identified as key development areas - the architectural, corporate presentations and amusements and attractions market - through dedicated seminars in our Masterclass Programme and specific feature areas in the Show itself. We are confident of an even more successful Show this year."
