UK - Artistic Licence will introduce Dali-Scope at PLASA07. It is a hand-held tool for testing, programming and configuring DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) devices. Dali-Scope is the first hand-held tool specifically designed for DALI, says the company.

The product can be used to: set the fixture address including group assignments; auto-patch fixture addresses; test the fixture; transmit single levels, group levels and scene selects; walk test; automatically cycle though channels groups and scenes; read all current DALI levels for channels, groups and scenes, and read latest DALI levels for channels, groups and scenes.

The product display uses high brightness LEDs making it easy to use in low light conditions. The moisture proof keypad uses single function keys for ease of operation. Dali-Scope is powered by two AA batteries and offers over 12 hours continuous operation. The product is compatible with rechargeable batteries and provides a programmable power off timer to further extend battery life.

Dali-Scope is claimed to be an industry first test tool for the DALI protocol. The low cost allows both individual and company ownership. Historically, commissioning or modifying a DALI installation required expensive equipment or laptop with interface cards. Dali-Scope changes all that, says the company.

• Dali-Scope has been nominated for the 2007 PLASA Product Excellence Award.
