UK - Havells Sylvania, the global designer, manufacturer and provider of professional lighting solutions has opened its European headquarters in London. The move aligns with the global strategy of Havells Sylvania to better serve its European customers and become more agile in a dynamic international market and high growth developing markets, says the company. The new office will be inaugurated by Qimat Rai Gupta, chairman & founder of Havells Group.

A statement says, "This decision underscores the company's vision to consolidate Havells Sylvania's position as one of the leading global designers and suppliers of lighting products. Set in a global lighting market characterized by an increasing demand for energy-saving and eco-friendly light sources which is forecast to reach US$24 billion by the year 2015, Havells Sylvania is well-positioned to cater for the European market out of this strategic location. The London EMEA Headquarters will also serve as a Centre of Excellence for Havells Sylvania enabling it to strengthen its communication avenues to the International market."

"This is an exciting time for the company as we base ourselves out of London. It is one of the most important and vibrant cities in Europe, which provides unhindered access to the international markets. It will provide us with a strategic advantage acting as a hub that will allow us to smoothly address both the Asian and European markets catering to a larger customer base" said Anil Gupta, joint managing director, Havells India.

Havells Sylvania's global footprint was created in 2007 when Indian parent company Havells acquired Germany-based Sylvania.
