The NT6 from Røde - available in the UK through HHB Communications.
UK - Exclusive UK distributor HHB Communications is delighted to announce the availability of Røde's new NT6 compact condenser microphone. Designed and manufactured in Australia, the NT6 uses technology already pioneered in the highly successful NT5 model, and boasts a separately-housed gold sputtered true condenser capsule that connects to the preamplifier body via a custom heavy duty 3m Kevlar-reinforced cable. This makes the NT6 ideal for a wide range of applications, say HHB, especially instrument mic'ing and any situation where mounting space is limited or a discrete installation is required.

Housed in a heavy-duty satin-nickel-plated body, the preamp module utilizes state-of-the-art surface mount technology and incorporates switches for both 10dB pad and 80Hz low cut filter (12dB/octave), enabling additional control without the need for disturbing the capsule once in position. The preamp delivers a low-noise balanced output with the same wide dynamic range, extended frequency response and high SPL capabilities exhibited by the NT5 model. The preamp can be powered from any standard 48V phantom source, and the output is provided on 3-pin XLR with the capability of driving loads down to 1kohm.

The capsule head can be conveniently mounted via the adjustable 2-axis swivel mount or the M5 stand adaptor (both supplied as standard), making remote positioning and adjustment extremely straightforward. Additionally, both 5/8" and 3/8" thread adaptors are provided - enabling the capsule to be securely attached to a wide range of mic stands, tripods and boom poles. Other supplied accessories include the WS5 windshield and a zip pouch.

Welcoming the new addition to the Røde family, HHB sales director Steve Angel comments: "With the NT6, Røde has continued a sustained roll-out of new products that is taking the brand into exciting new areas. As well as the NT6's obvious benefits for studio, live sound and broadcast users, it's perfectly suited to a range of installed sound applications. We're convinced that customers in these markets will embrace the NT6 with the same enthusiasm as Røde's existing user base."
