Infinium Technologies introduced the contact-free digital fader for DJ mixers and professional lighting and sound consoles. The faders use a combination of infrared light focused by parabolic reflectors onto phototransistors to create a modified Grey Code. The resistance of the fader can also be adjusted by way of a screw on the fader, however increasing the resistance does not create any physical wear, as magnets create the effect. The faders are available in 45, 60 and 100mm versions.
