Located in Cologne, the impressive Kölnarena is surrounded on all sides by a glass façade. The 83,700 square meter building has a capacity for over 18,000 visitors and offers a full programme of entertainment throughout the year including concerts, shows, sports spectaculars and television productions in addition to providing a venue for meetings, congresses and conferences. Interalia's Trouncer system is used within the Kölnarena centre as a public address announcement system, providing visitors with information and jingles.
The Trouncer can be installed in a variety of environments and has been designed to provide high quality audio messages, and to control visual information displays. Audio files are stored as .WAV files at any available sampling rate including full CD quality 44.1k. The Trouncer then plays back the messages under manual, automatic or computerised control. Messages are also stored in Flash memory so that in the event of a power failure they are not lost.
