Spain - The Uniline Max, APG’s new line array for large shows and events, made its international debut in Barcelona.
A high-performance audio system by APG, the inventor of the modular line array, the Uniline Max is designed specifically for large-scale events and concerts. The system, which is shipping now, comprises the UM210 2 × 10” line array speaker and a new subwoofer, the 1 × 21” UM121, which together deliver exceptional audio clarity and power for audiences of up to 10,000 people.
The easy-to-use Uniline Max meets the highest level of requirements from rental companies, live performance providers and venue managers. The system’s ergonomic design ensures the speakers are easy to handle, with thoughtfully positioned rear and side handles for easy transport and a flexible rigging system that supports both tension and compression configurations. This allows the Uniline Max to integrate into any stage environment.
The Uniline Max also incorporates several innovative technologies, including the patent-pending SIGMA waveguide, which ensures optimal coupling between speakers, maintaining precise sound quality across diverse environments. This innovative waveguide technology makes the system adaptable to any stage setup while delivering consistent audio performance.
The new APG UM121 subwoofer is equipped with a 21” driver in a hybrid enclosure and features a bass-reflex configuration at the rear with a profiled port, optimising roundness in the lower spectrum and creating an impressive physiological impact. The subwoofer is designed to be used on the ground or suspended, with dedicated accessories enabling its use below or alongside UM210 speakers.
Moov'Event is the first company to invest in the Uniline Max, taking stock of two line-array systems comprising eight UM210 and 12 UM121 subs. The company’s founder and general manager, Felipe Araya, comments on the new acquisition: “With the new Uniline Max, we've rediscovered the legendary precision of the line-array speakers which made APG’s reputation. This new system, coupled with the amazing support from the young and passionate APG team, makes us confident in a bright future and great success for our customers’ events.”
Edo Dijkstra, owner of TVV Sound Project, APG’s distributor in Belgium, is similarly impressed by the capabilities of the Uniline Max, which he describes as an “exceptional” system. “It exhibits excellent phase behaviour, and the coupling works perfectly,” Dijkstra elaborates. “The mechanical finishing is also of very high quality, making it convenient for handling.”
In addition to showcasing its new products at ISE, the French audio manufacturer introduced attendees to the recently launched ProAV Repair Index, which scores audiovisual products based on their overall repairability. Devised by an independent commission with the input of APG, the index ranks professional AV equipment based on its durability and serviceability – key metrics for measuring AV products’ environmental impact.
“With the launch of the Uniline Maxline array and UM121 subwoofer, we aim to reconnect with the international touring and live events audience,” explains Eric Grandmougin, marketing director and sales director for Arbane Groupe. “We strongly believe these products will meet the needs of the live performance market in today’s economic environment – while also underscoring APG’s commitment to a more sustainable future for all.”
