The Salao Internacional do Automovel 2006 featured 155 exhibitors and drew more than 620,000 visitors over a two-week period. With a theme of "Passion, Emotion and Evolution" and multiple new product launches scheduled by the world's leading auto companies, the exhibition was one of Latin America's largest and most successful trade shows of the year. R4 Som, a full-service sound reinforcement company, provided its client Toyota with in-booth audio production services.
Powered by Crown MA-Series power amplifiers and driven by a dbx 4800 DriveRack loudspeaker management system, JBL Vertec VT4889 full-size line array elements were suspended in multiple arrays to provide music playback and general sound reinforcement at the Toyota booth, where the firm's new models were introduced to show attendees.
Project director Roberto Ramos, R4 Som's owner, led a crew of technicians including Adriano Ignacio, Marinaldo Pereira and Adilio Silva. "With its light enclosure weight, high output power capabilities and excellent fidelity, the system was a very good match for this application," advised Ramos. "Being able to provide our clients with premium-quality sound reinforcement services is important to our company. We will soon be providing a similar system for the upcoming 50th Anniversary celebration of Mercedes-Benz' presence in the Brazilian market."
