Channel Islands - Since its inception in 1985, the Guernsey Awards for Achievement has focused on celebrating corporate and personal success. Now in its 23rd year, the initiative continues to attract the interest and support of companies and individuals island-wide.

This year's event reached its climax recently at a glittering Awards gala evening, held at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre; attended by close on 800 people it again proved to be the highlight of the Island's corporate calendar.

Production company Joy's were brought in to provide the spectacular projection backdrop. The company fielded Christie's high-definition projectors and Vista Spyder dynamic processing as part of a purpose-designed show, created and produced in Joy's own '3DLive' graphics system.

Joy's supplied an impressive 20m widescreen, centred on the landscape side of the room, and constructed from floor to ceiling. A series of 3D animated graphic sequences were produced in 3DLive and projected by two edge-blended Christie Roadster HD18Ks.

Vista Spyder screen control managed the 18,000-lumen projectors, along with two additional Christie Roadster HD12Ks, which were used on repeater screens at the sides of the room. These permitted an excellent view of the dynamic on-screen display from all perspectives.

A comprehensive lighting rig was also provided, including a number of moving head lamps and awards gobos on the set.
