Lighting designer Dan Terry chose White Light to supply lighting and video equipment for the event. The lighting rig consisted of 12 VLX LED moving heads and six VL3500Q Spots. Due to the limited load in and fit up time the design needed to be quick to rig, reliable and versatile.
"A variation of effects and looks was needed for a concert that was full of different musical styles. I was eager to use the new VLX wash lights and I was impressed with their output. I also needed spots with a bit of punch and the VL35000Qs were ideal," says Terry.
Supplementing the lighting rig, White Light supplied a Hippo Critter Media Server. Terry pre-loaded the content onto the Hippo Critter at White Light's South London base prior to the equipment being delivered to the venue. Once onsite the Critter was monitored remotely using Zoo Keeper software and triggered by an Avolites Pearl Expert.
Terry reported that the concert was a success. "I was extremely happy with the outcome and I've already decided to use them for the next design."
White Light senior hire coordinator Craig Bennett commented, "Katy's homecoming concert was an excellent opportunity to support a new artist.
