Boasting the largest school hall in Hertfordshire, Mount Grace School required a high quality and versatile sound system to enhance the wide range of events that the hall facilitates.
Having evaluated a number of systems, many of which used line array technology, they were unconvinced that any could offer the required coverage and consistent performance that the space deserved.
Local audio suppliers Philip Stannard Associates suggested that rather than a line array approach, KV2 Audio's True Point Source approach to loudspeaker design would get the required results with fewer boxes and without the unavoidable cancellation issues that these multiple source systems create.
Phil Stannard arranged for KV2 Audio to demonstrate an ES System made up of one ES 1.0 3-way mid/hi and one ES 2.5 2x15" subwoofer per side with associated EPAK 2500R amplifier and control units featuring revolutionary 20MHz delay line technology.
The demonstration proved conclusive with the ES System outperforming all other systems trialed. Sonic performance was the key factor in Mount Grace's decision and their decision was made even easier by the fact that such a compact solution gave the coverage and output required without disturbing sight lines with ungainly speaker hangs.
Philip Stannard Associates supplied the system and oversaw its installation, which involved flying the complete system stage left and right.
Paul Pytches from Mount Grace School commented, "The ES System has surpassed our expectations, the quality of the system is amazing. All who have heard it have been very impressed. The system will be used daily for a wide variety of events ranging from assemblies to performance and will add to our extensive technical facilities allowing students to put on even better shows and further develop their skills."
Phil Stannard added, "We were pleased to be working with KV2 who offered full support throughout the project."
