Six Lake Contour processors are integrated into the audio system in the main Plenary Hall, a two-level, tiered seating venue that accommodates 3,000 people and is intended for concerts, opening ceremonies, conferences, and product launches. The processor system, controlled by a wireless touch-screen tablet, is being used to optimize a Left-Center-Right (LCR) speaker system. In addition to advanced sound, lighting, and audio-visual systems, the hall incorporates state-of-the-art conference facilities, including an interactive microphone system and built-in multilingual interpretation systems.
The smaller Plenary Theatre on the convention centre's third floor is outfitted with three Lake Contour processors controlling a smaller LCR speaker setup. A more intimate venue than the Plenary Hall, the theatre offers auditorium-style tiered seating for 500 delegates and is similarly outfitted with state-of-the-art audio-visual and conference facilities, including digital voting and in-seat writing tablet facilities. A third, mobile public address system, optimized by a single Lake Contour, is additionally available for use throughout the convention centre.
Integrated Audio Visual of Malaysia supplied the audio equipment in accordance with the designs of audio consultant Eric Wong of CCW Acoustics in Singapore. The complex was built by a subsidiary of Petronas (Petroliam Nasional Berhad) for a reported cost of over US$145 million. The building covers 120,000 square meters and is located within the 100-acre Petronas city within a city development adjacent to the world-famous twin-tower skyscraper.
