USA - In Las Vegas they certainly do things on a grand scale, especially when performing on stage are the world's most popular and successful singers and bands. The closing ceremony of the Radio Music Awards -considered by the American recording industry as its equivalent of the movie industry's Golden Globe Awards - was broadcast live nationwide on NBC in December.

A spectacular show, it was stunningly lit by a battery of Coemar iWash Haloes. Top of the bill were Mariah Carey and Green Day, while the winning team backstage and at the lighting console consisted of Allen Branton (lighting design), Tom Beck, Kevin Lawson and Felix Peralta (lighting directors), Laura Frank (digital lighting director), David Oakes (head gaffer), Darren Langer, Dave Hunkins, McClain Moss, Ken Burns and Steve Chase (show gaffers), Liberty Bock (operations manager). The lighting contractor was upstaging.
