Le Maitre needed a large studio space that could provide enough height for their higher effects such as the Mines and Comets, as well as Falling Stars, Cascades and Waterfalls, and they needed full blackout. The 17,664 sq ft rehearsal arena in South Kirkby was a suitable location with a height of 54 ft to the underside of the gantry. LS-Live's in house rigging company Knight Rigging Services were also on hand for the rental of two chainhoists and a power controller for the day.
Said Le Maitre's Sally Dobinson,"The location at LS-Live was perfect for us, with 54 ft height space it offered a unique opportunity for the higher effects which we are unable to shoot when we use theatres, often with 25 ft height limitations, or outside locations where we then become susceptible to the elements.
"They also supplied a black backdrop, blackout environment and allowed us to switch off smoke alarms.
"Everyone was incredibly accommodating, we were left completely alone to get on with the job in hand when needed, whilst no request was too much effort, with staff on hand to assist with hired motorised truss and loan us ladders and black cloths; everyone - without exception - was a delight to work with."
Said project co-ordinator Adam 'Bullet' Bettley, "We were pleased to welcome Le Maitre to the studio to film their product demonstrations and they were a great client. We try to offer a very flexible space and service here at LS-Live and will always accommodate any special requests where possible."
