Galaxy Macau – an integrated leisure and entertainment resort
Macau - Opened in May 2011, Galaxy Macau was billed as Macau's first integrated leisure and entertainment resort, designed to help the region achieve its aim of becoming a diversified 'Global Centre of Tourism and Recreation'. LED screen manufacturer Lighthouse Technologies had successfully acquired the contract for the provision to the resort with a series of visual elements.

Lighthouse's first involvement with owner Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) was at the beginning of 2008, when it supplied two LED screens to GEG's flagship StarWorld Hotel and Casino in Macau Peninsula.

Lighthouse provided the 550,000sq.m Galaxy Macau, the newest integrated destination resort in the Special Administrative Region's Cotai entertainment area, with six LED screens.

Two Pi10-ER 10mm screens are situated at the entrance to resort, each measuring 12.8m (w) x 9.6m (h) (10 x 10 panels), displaying Galaxy Macau's welcome message; two P6-FA 6mm screens, 6.4m (w) x 4.8m (h) (10 x 10 panels) are positioned at the entrance to the Indoor Day Tripper area; and two additional P6-FA screens, measuring 5.12m (w) x 2.88m (h), is sited in the Indoor Gaming Hall No.5 and 4.48m (w) x 3.36m (h) is at the entrance to the Indoor Pearl Bar Stage, showing a variety of content.

"The Pi10-ER screen was chosen for the outdoor location because of its exceptional 6,000 nits of brightness, making it ideal for viewing in this area of high ambient light," explains Lighthouse's managing director, Peter Chan. "The P6-FA screens, meanwhile, were chosen for their front access design - each is installed against a wall - as well as for their high resolution, true, bright colour reproduction and exceptional viewing angles.

"We are delighted that Lighthouse screens have once again been chosen by GEG for this prestigious resort project."
