The Future Star Award is aimed at individuals aged between 21 and 30 who have demonstrated significant personal achievement and have the ability to be role models of the future.

Built in 1985, the theatre is the largest performing arts venue in Norway, with three multidisciplinary spaces offering a diverse programme of both in-house and outside productions. Formerly The Zodiac on Cowley Road, AMG is investing £2m into the refurbishment programme and increasing the overall building capacity to 1,350, creating three, production-complete performance spaces.

Marquee Audio carried out a site survey and identified where they could overhaul and upgrade some of the existing equipment, re-cabling each room to allow them to be used as part of a site-wide network, for which they are designing an advanced control system.

The lasers are used specifically to reproduce the cover artwork of Dark Side Of The Moon. The effect was conceptualised by Marc Brickman, ETG's Kelly Sticksel, and Lightwave International's George Dodworth. Design was executed by Chris Nyfield of Hindsight Studios and Brickman, along with Sticksel and Dodworth.

The base structure was fabricated by ShowRig, headed by Eric Pierce. Final assembly was a joint effort between ShowRig, ETG, Lightwave International, Hindsight Studios, Stack Technical Services, and GCN Technologies.

As the LC units are semi-transparent, they can be used in an array of applications and allow the seamless integration of moving images, lighting and set design, says the company. The panels can move through a range of intensity, from a solid wall of images and colour to near-invisibility and allow light, air, and effects to pass through.

The BB's were selected by the London event's lighting designers Patrick Woodroffe (responsible for the stage/show lighting) and Mark Kenyon (responsible for the TV and BBC's lighting requirements), and supplied by lighting contractor PRG London - along with all the other equipment.

Lighting for the Live Earth concerts challenged its designers to make the rig as energy-efficient as possible, so they used as many high output, low-energy lighting fixtures as possible - including LED and HMI sources. (Tungsten elements were reduced to an absolute minimum).

Still retaining the 'stepped' shaft design and extra efficient steel ball, thrust bearing, they now include the addition of an "Iglidur" flange bearing, secured by a specially machined aluminium block. The event kicked off the high profile venue's new life as a major UK concert venue in grand style - with performances by Basement Jaxx, the Kaiser Chiefs and Tom Jones. The show was presented by Dermot O'Leary.

Packed close to its 23,000 capacity, guests were treated to a five-camera IMAG show directed by Kevin Watts. The four manned Sony D50 cameras were positioned one at FOH, two left and right high up in the bleachers either side and one hand-held onstage. Lighting designer Abigail Rosen Holmes worked with production designer Tom McPhillips of Atomic Design to develop the tour design.

"Tom McPhillips' fabulous set design was the great starting point," says Holmes. "Martina is also very involved in the creative process. She has a very good eye and a real knowledge of what works for her, which makes it a huge pleasure to work with her."

Holmes suggested that a key component to the lighting design was working with McPhillips to create a set that co-ordinated with the lighting scheme. The concert was the only show in Germany that the artist played during his current tour. Lighting designer and director Kevin 'Stick' Bye uses two grandMA full-size, one as backup.

With the console, Bye controls a lighting rig including 40 VL3000 spots, 12 VL 1000AS, 12 VL2402, 10 VL6c, 32 MAC 2000 washes and a 60ft wide and 33ft high Mainlight Soft LED curtain.

The wall is adorned with 2ft and 3ft square openings running the entire circumference, giving the building a Spanish Mission look. This architectural parapet detail is accentuated with LED lights from Acclaim Lighting, which are mounted inside the wall and fill each square with a palette of slowly-changing colours.

The Abbey can trace its origins back to 907 AD and remains the largest parish church in Hampshire. Recently named as one of the 100 best loved places of worship in Britain in a national newspaper survey, the Abbey also hosts several high profile concerts a year and various community activities.

The Abbey approached A.C. Lighting to provide a complete turnkey solution to address the poor general lighting and expensive running costs of the Church's existing system.
