The powerful fixture library and abstract control model allowed me to adjust all parameters of intelligent devices as easily as bringing up a dimmer. All possible attribute selections were conveniently displayed in an understandable vocabulary - I never had to think about a numeric DMX value when manipulating a fixture. Also worth mentioning is the easy to use effects engine. Intuitive and useful effects are built in, and are easy to access, apply, and manipulate for any given fixture or parameter."

UK - When Robert McWhir, the director for I Love You Because, wanted to put on this new musical premiere at the Landor Theatre, he was aware that it would be challenging to find the right combination of lighting fixtures and control system that would allow moving lights, LED fixtures, conventionals and video to be seamlessly integrated. Part of the challenge was the need for a single control system which would minimise the budget on rental and operator costs. The solution was to use grandMA.

With the assistance of Entec Sound and Light, a package was put together that included a grandMA full-size for programming, a grandMA light for playback, an MA NSP to distribute the DMX and act in conjunction with an in-house PC as backup system, and finally a second PC as media server running grandMA video.

In line with the method favoured by theatrical productions today, the rehea

Australia - LSC Lighting Systems has taken possession of its new purpose built headquarters, located in the southern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.

USA - American DJ has developed the LED Bar, billed as a better way for bands, schools, churches and stage shows to create colourful wall washes. A compact bar with four heads, each containing 61 vibrant 5mm LEDs (21 red, 19 green, 21 blue), the DMX-compatible LED Bar can produce thousands of rich, saturated colors through RGB colour mixing, sas the company.

Featuring a 30° beam angle, the LED Bar's total 244 LED lamps will cover a wide surface area with dazzling colour. Yet, performers, entertainers and speakers will remain cool under its bright lights, thanks to the low heat emission of LEDs, which do not product ultraviolet or infrared rays.

Each of the LED Bar's lamps is rated for 50,000 hours of use, making mid-show bulb replacements a thing of the past. And the low power consumption of LEDs will help save energy costs and allow more units to be run on a single circui
