Lightware education courses at the Düsseldorf Training Centre

Hungary - Lightware is reaffirming its commitment to education through continued investment in its various professional development initiatives. More than a corporate strategy, this commitment reflects Lightware’s core values that knowledge should be freely available to empower the next generation of AV professionals.

“At Lightware, we believe in sharing knowledge, not gatekeeping it,” says Gergely Vida, CEO of Lightware. “Education is central to our mission.”

The company’s learning ecosystem is built to meet professionals where they are, whether in a classroom, a meeting room or from behind a screen. Lightware Academy, the e-learning platform which launched in Q4 of 2023, has attracted over 9,000 users worldwide since it went live. During this time, these users have collectively completed more than 18,000 courses, a testament to the popularity of this valuable learning resource.

Lightware Academy offers a scalable, self-paced learning environment with modules designed to support every stage of an AV professional’s career, from initial introductions to AV-over-IP to in-depth training on AV integration. The in-house Lightware team continues to develop its Academy materials and releases new courses on a regular basis.

Lightware Academy content is supplemented by instructor-led webinars, providing live access to technical experts. Over the past year, 11 webinars, including popular USB Masterclasses and Taurus UCX product sessions, have drawn more than 3,100 registrations. This blend of theory and practice reflects the company’s intent to foster real-world confidence alongside technical competence.

Recognising that some skills are best put into practice in person, Lightware also continues to invest in physical spaces for training. The opening of its dedicated Training Centre in Düsseldorf, Germany, in June 2024 marked a milestone in this strategy. In less than a year, the centre has hosted a total of 37 sessions, 22 official Lightware training events and 15 custom partner sessions, welcoming over 320 attendees. These in-person experiences are further supported by Lightware Experience Centres across eight regional hubs, offering technical workshops and one-on-one consultations.

“The trainers are friendly, helpful, and truly know what they’re talking about,” confirms Maik Di Battista, an AV professional at audivision Lange who attended the USB & Taurus Master Course at the Düsseldorf Training Centre. "The course was technically very informative and provided in-depth insights into the technology and functions of the products. What I especially liked was the hands-on session at the end. Working directly with the devices made the theory tangible and gave a real impression of the systems’ capabilities.”

Lightware’s investment in education spans a wide range of sectors, from corporate and higher education markets to live events and public services. This continued investment is a long-term commitment, aimed at narrowing the skills gap and empowering the next generation of industry professionals.

“By investing in both digital platforms and in-person training, we are helping AV professionals around the world gain the skills and confidence to design and deploy future-ready systems,” continues Vida. “We are committed to playing an active, positive role in the AV industry, and by continuing to invest in and offer different education initiatives, we’re not only helping to level-up overall competencies, but also ensuring a bright future of innovation.”
