Russia - More than 400 architects and designers gathered for the seminarLux: Light & Luxury, which was organised by company Mercury, and Lighting Design Center (illuminator group) within the XI international exhibition Arh Moscow.

On the 3 June in the Central House of Artists, well known Moscow architects and designers gathered to discuss the role of lighting design in creating the luxury image of world leading brand show-rooms.

The central theme of the seminar was a unique Russian project - Barvikha Luxury Village. The architect Yuri Grigoryan (Project Meganom), the author of Barvikha Luxury Village project, and Boris Knyazev, CEO of the Lighting Design Center (illuminator group), described the experience of their creative co-operation.

International experience of co-operation of lighting designers and architects was presented in the seminar by Claudio Valent (Metis Lighting, Milan) and Rogier Van der Heide (Arup Lighting). C.Valent - well known Italian lighting designer shared his experience of co-operation with architect Antonio Citterio on Bvlgary hotel project in Milan, and with bureau +ARCH on the Dolce&Gabbana boutiques' interiors.

Rogier Van der Heide showed examples of his work, and how creative lighting can change the image of architectural projects. He demonstrated the influence of creative lighting design on the image of a brand and the company. The creation of the concept of the lighting scheme for the Prada boutique in Tokyo, was also the focus of the seminar, which was built as per the design of Herzog & Demeuron architectural bureau (Switzerland).

There was an active dialogue between speakers and the audience, which demonstrated the doubtless interest of the architects to the theme of co-operation with lighting designers.
