Still touring with the ‘Philishaves’ until 1987, Robert Morrison says "I loved the Martin stuff because of that, and so we went out to their factory for a listen." Seeking the versatility of a system offering different flying accessories, he opted for the arrayable compact Wavefront Theatre WT2 system, with a pair of WT3 three-way boxes, a pair of WS2A 2 x 15 subs and a pair of the DX1 digital controllers. "When you buy the Theatre system you are buying every conceivable configuration," he says. "What we now have is a durable, portable system which we can run bi-amped or tri-amped. With the subs added it’s a very meaty system indeed."
To run the system he purchased eight QSC Powerlight PLX3002 and PLX3402 switchmode amplifiers from the Shepperton suppliers, noting "I can now carry 3,000W of power under one arm, whereas a few years ago I struggled to carry 1,000W under both."
