The MAC 250 Krypton features a number of significant changes including a new optical system for brighter output and improved image quality, new gobo patterns, improved movement and styling, and will be well suited to a variety of markets such as the club and installation market, retail and leisure applications, special events and more.
A new glass reflector produces even higher light output - more than competitive products using condenser-based optical systems, say Martin. A precision achromatic lens system maximizes the efficiency of the Philips MSD 250/2 lamp. A newly designed rotating and indexing gobo wheel offers a new selection of replaceable metal and dichroic gobos: the 16-bit precision gobo wheel houses seven slots plus open, and the new design makes gobo changes fast and easy. Colour is provided from a motorized colour wheel housing 12 replaceable dichroic colour filters plus open with split position possibilities.
New pan and tilt motor technology produces improved movement, with Martin reporting that the new MAC 250 series fixtures are the fastest moving heads the company has ever manufactured. An automatic reset function is ultra fast, realigning the fixture in seconds if knocked out of position.
The MAC 250 Krypton also includes a fast and smooth dimmer/shutter, with strobe effects possible up to 20Hz. A replaceable, bi-directional, three-facet prism rotates at variable-speeds, adding unique effects to gobo projection. The MAC 250 Krypton is also equipped with a remote focus and various preset patterns. Details of the MAC 250 Entour will be available in the near future.
