Created as a response to market demands for a powerful 1200W MAC Fresnel fixture, the MAC 2000 Wash combines some of the best features of the MAC 2000 Profile and MAC 600 eNT and was specifically produced as a complementary fixture to the other MACs in the 2000 Series - the MAC 2000 Profile and MAC 2000 Performance. The MAC 2000 Wash comes with electronic ballast as standard. The MAC 2000 Wash features a brand new reflector design developed specifically for this high-powered washlight.
A large number of colour options was also a key priority. The fixture has a full CMY colour mixing system with a brand new etching design, to ensure smooth and even colour mixing across the entire beam. There are also two fixed colour wheels, each fitted with four replaceable colours. Finally, the variable colour temperature correction filters that became popular when Martin originally introduced them with the MAC 600 NT have also been included to give designers a range of options.
The MAC 2000 Wash is the first washlight fixture from Martin Professional that features a fully motorized zoom system. The zoom and optical systems operate in conjunction with three interchangeable front lens options to provide a choice of beam angles. The fixture comes fitted with a Fresnel lens as standard giving a zoom range of 15-40°. For added flexibility, a PC lens comes supplied providing a zoom range of 12-34°. For flat and even projection over short distances a super wide-angle lens is available as an option, giving a zoom range of 70-80°. To the zoom lens system has been added a very special feature - ‘power mode’. For additional punch the zoom lens can be removed from the optical path. This gives a fixed and narrow, yet extremely powerful, beam. The fact that this can be automated and controlled by DMX is unique to the MAC 2000 Wash. In this mode the light output of the fixture increases to approximately 32,000 lumens at 11° using the Fresnel lens, and over 33,000 lumens at 12° using the PC lens.
The MAC 2000 Wash comes complete with a combined dimmer/shutter system that provides both full microstep dimming and a variable speed strobe that can be dimmed while running. Three-phase motors provide smooth and accurate 16-bit movement at both fast and slow speeds. Pan movement is 540° by 267° of tilt.
