The system is mounted left and right on the on the proscenium wall, with a pair of UMS-1P subs ground stacked on either side of the stage. These are removed for lecture presentations and reinstated for shows. Marquee also provided two additional UPM-1P three-way powered speakers as fills, giving them the option of a satellite system, and a further three UPMs, flown off an existing lighting bar on drop arms, to provide the delay sound."The installation was very straightforward, and was carried out in a single day" says Dave. "In fact from their first site visit, Marquee have been extremely helpful - even when it looked like the contract might be falling away. They suggested the BSS Omnidrive Compact Plus for system control and it’s been absolutely ideal, as the room gets used in many different configurations. The three-input, six-output configuration is perfect for storing different delay, EQ and limiting settings so that you don’t have to mess around with the EQ’s."
The sound characteristics are also defined by whether the stage thrust is out, or the 300 retractable seats removed. The Omnidrive and EMO switcher have been inserted in the pre-existing rack, and at the front-of-house control position the venue has retained its Soundcraft Spirit 324, Denon minidisc players (popular with touring shows) and Tascam CD player, purchased last year after the Radlett Centre had been hit by floods.
