The Galileo system update comes in the form of an update to the system's Compass control software, which then also updates the firmware of the Galileo 616 processor.
The Galileo 616 processor is able to provide data to a SIM 3 analyzer from a selection of probe points in the signal path, eliminating the need for a switcher when using the Galileo system for system drive processing. The new software expands the choice of probe points to allow monitoring either before or after corrective processing such as atmospheric compensation, array compensation, and high- or low-pass filtering.
The Galileo update also includes a revised atmospheric compensation filter algorithm that provides smoother response when moving through different parameter settings, and a change in the power-up sequence that sets the fan to a low speed until a higher one is needed.
The SIM 3 update includes a variety of enhancements, especially in the user interface and navigation systems. It also adds the ability to import files and data created by a SIM II analyzer system.
