USA / Europe - 2012 has been a banner year for the Meyer Sound MINA line array loudspeaker, the smallest and youngest member of the MILO family line array loudspeakers, the company reports. Dozens of new installations in small- to medium- sized theatres have come online around the world, and MINA's exceptional power-to-size ratio has made it a highly adaptable workhorse for Meyer Sound rental companies in a range of applications.

European AV companies including PRG, POOLgroup, Creative Technology Germany, Dushow, and Blue Noise have deployed MINA as the main, front-fill, side-fill, and under-balcony systems in their work of all genres and scales. To name a few examples, MINA has been used during an auto show in Paris, symphonic showcases, a soccer season opening, numerous corporate events, and on tour with Udo Jürgens and Michel Sardou.

In North America, MINA provided support for productions on Broadway, the Montréal International Jazz Festival, a Dalai Lama teaching event, and cinema playback at the Telluride Film Festival. MINA also served as the foundation of a 'bus and trailer' touring system with the Blackhawk Audio-provided system accompanying the Christian rock band Kutless.

"We pretty much cover the gamut [of venues] on this tour, which is why I wanted to take the MINA system. It is incredibly versatile," says Tim O'Neill, production manager and FOH engineer for Kutless. "It doesn't matter if it's a bare gymnasium or a carpeted church. MINA puts out the most consistent sound we've ever had on a headline tour."

Houses of worship and live performance venues have embraced the power and clarity of MINA. Recent projects include Yuong-Sang Presbyterian Church (Pennsylvania), The Moody Church (Illinois), First Baptist Church Decatur (Alabama), Robert N. Miner Auditorium at SFJAZZ (California), and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

"I had auditioned some other small line arrays," says Doug Collingsworth, director of technical ministries at First Baptist Church Decatur, "but when we went up to Soundcheck in Nashville to hear MINA, my jaw hit the floor. We all fell in love with it."

Other new MINA systems include four venues in Germany and three in Poland, as well as projects in Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, Mexico, and Malaysia.
