"The seminar program works to provide support to our UK dealer network and customers," says Roger Harpum, Meyer Sound's UK sales manager. "These sessions introduce audio professionals, at no charge, to fundamental aspects of modern sound systems, in the process making clear the benefits of Meyer Sound technologies."
The day-long introductory course, entitled System Design Principles, provides a broad overview of principles involved in the design and measurement of complex sound reinforcement systems. Participants receive a basic grounding in the key parameters of audio measurement and how they relate to filters and phase alignment. Curvilinear array configuration principles are integrated into a discussion of Meyer Sound's MAPP Online, and system optimization approaches are covered in conjunction with an overview of source independent measurement as implemented in the SIM 3 audio analyzer system.
The instructor for the seminars will be Maurico 'Magu' Ramirez, one of the most experienced seminar trainers on Meyer Sound's educational staff. Known around the world for his engaging teaching style, Ramirez combines solid technical expertise (based on schooling in physics and mathematics) with years of hands-on experience as a sound reinforcement engineer. He has been a certified SIM operator since 1993 and has taught SIM since 1998.
Following the opening London sessions (10-12 January), Ramirez travels north to Leeds on 14 January and Manchester on 17 January, then further north to Edinburgh, Scotland for a seminar on 19 January. The tour concludes in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 21 January. More information on the Meyer Sound educational program is available from the website address below.
