"When we were first approached to supply the facilities for The F-Word, we were asked to meet a very precise specification by sound supervisor Rob Ashard," says Picture Canning's senior sound engineer Mike Horn. "We required a mixing desk with lots of features but a small footprint, as the audio facilities for the show were squeezed into a very small room above the studio/restaurant. The Verona fitted the bill perfectly and Ashard was delighted with its performance."
Horn had previously used the Verona on a live TV installation that Picture Canning had built in Bristol for a two-year contract with production company Endemol. "I was confident of its reliability, and that it was sonically more than capable of doing the job on The F-Word," he says. "We first became fans of Midas when we bought a Venice, which is a fantastically-priced mixer for a very competitive facilities market. Our Midas consoles have been a great investment for us and are great for the world of TV."
