Having watched the development of hard disk delivery and other media streaming systems - aimed specifically at 'chameleon' licensed venues operating over an all-day trading pattern - Marquee Audio has waited for the market to mature and new-generation technology to kick in before making their move, according to MD Spencer Brooks: "As an essential part of our installation work we were increasingly being requested to supply a product which exceeds the performance of other proprietary hard disk systems on the market, and after putting Molto through a number of prototype stages we now believe we have a product that fulfils that."Molto will offer storage capacity for 600 albums' worth of material as standard (using drag and drop function) and can be programmed to play whole albums or single tracks.
Operating off a Linux platform, Molto offers intelligent 24 hour, 7 days in advance play lists programming and programmable music on/off times. It allows clients to record their own existing CD base (at up to 25 x normal speed) and have control over their venue's music policy, allowing them to create, name and save their own playlists and implement their own logos and colour scheme.
Other features include: printable log of played tracks on given dates; printable log of stored tracks; stereo output; rack mount or tabletop versions; user-friendly interface; no ongoing costs or subscription; password protect; and simultaneous record and playback.
Brooks adds: "We have given high priority to optimizing the sound quality and Molto also offers very high quality MP3 audio conversion. The market is moving increasingly towards clients wishing to download their own tracks - and no longer wanting to be told by third party suppliers the ideal music to match their customer profile."
